Cambridge Immerse provides an unparalleled educational experience in Cambridge University colleges for 15-18 year old participants. Tutorials and seminars are taught by highly regarded tutors in an optimal learning environment that stimulates academic enquiry; yet the carefully planned schedule ensures that the programme not only meets the academic needs of the participants, but also provides a unique insight into the university city through an abundance of extracurricular activities and leadership experiences.  We place great importance on providing a safe, secure and enjoyable experience for our participants, and are looking for responsible and qualified staff that share our core values.

The Programme Director is a key figure in the Cambridge Immerse team. The successful applicants will manage a team of staff and a campus of international students to ensure that the high expectations of academic delivery, safety, welfare, organisation and student enjoyment are met.

The Programme Director is a managerial role with a strong pastoral element. The Programme Director will:

  • oversee the organisation and execution of academic classes and social activities
  • lead and manage the summer mentor team
  • respond to queries and concerns from parents
  • handle and respond to the day-to-day demands presented by the 15-18 year old students.
  • manage the Cambridge Immerse academic staff
  • communicate with the onsite College staff
  • facilitate the pre-course organisation of operational and procedural aspects such as Health & Safety forms and Risk Assessments
  • provide guidance on matters of welfare and student discipline.

The role involves a high level of responsibility and requires excellent organisational, delegation and managerial skills with extensive suitable experience.

This position will require attending at a training programme the week before the course begins.

  • Why apply for this job? This role would suit a senior education professional with extensive experience managing staff and large sites. You’re comfortable leading by professional example and inspiring your staff to achieve excellence at all levels.

Previous experience in taking an active role in running educational courses or institutions is preferred (such as as a housemaster / housemistress in a boarding school), though applicants with strong leadership experience in other fields will also be considered.

Applicants must be friendly and approachable, in addition to having extensive knowledge of Cambridge and its university.
